Expanded aluminum foil is a unique material manufactured using expanding techniques and patented machinery.
This highly efficient aluminum mesh has been proven to perform in a diverse range of applications. The material is available as coils, cut to size sheets and formed bespoke components. Amongst its uses, aluminum foil is layered into filter panels to capture dust and grease for both internal and external air filtration. The product offers a range of versatile features which have been adapted to suit a range of functional applications including heat spacers in the automotive industry, anti-explosive products and components for grease air and oil filtration.
The product is also utilised as explosion suppression safety foil, commonly used in fuel storage tanks for petrol and even aviation fuel at airports as well as helicopter landing pads. Extensive testing by the MOD has proven that storage tank filled with both fuel andaluminum foil are able to withstand bullet and shrapnel penetration as well as direct combustion without actually exploding. A further advantage is minimum displacement of only 0.95% of volume filled.
