Trinidad and Tobago commissions USD 30 million mobile substations

Robert Le Hunte, Public Utilities Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, spent 30 million U.S. dollars commissioning 10 mobile substations in line with the government's 2030 vision.

The mobile substations are designed as containerised units, comprising of a generator, complete with step-up transformer, circuit breaker and fuel storage, and are mounted trailers so that they could be mobilised and transported, reports Newsday.

Under the auspices of the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP), these units will enable T & TEC to respond to disruptions in power supply in the event of a natural disaster.
