Iraq, Baghdad: Iraq's Ministry of Electric Power has signed a $ 400 million agreement with General Electric to develop 14 substations in a turnkey manner.
The contract also includes supply of critical equipment such as power transformers, circuit breakers and other outdoor equipment to rehabilitate existing substations and bring power to areas facing significant electricity shortages across the country, the manufacturer said in the statement.
Once in use, the substations will connect the power plants across Ninawa, Salahuddin, Anbar, Karbala, Baghdad, Qadisiyah and Basra to the national grid.
